Holiday Pay Calculations

 

 

The Challenge

New employment case law obligating companies to include relevant regular payments to employees in the calculation of holiday pay meant that the organisation’s systems were underpaying some employees.

Project Delivered

The organisation was the UK division of a large global engineering consultancy with sites across the UK.

I led a project group to update the payroll processes and systems to ensure legally compliant holiday pay calculations for all employees.

The project involved engaging with senior IT, payroll and HR colleagues to make the required changes to the payroll system. I was required to write and follow through on an IT specification document and explanatory process maps for the payroll team.

Outcome

The project achieved implementation of the necessary payroll changes to ensure no employees were underpaid holiday pay. All changes were completed, implemented, tested and running accurately by the agreed deadline.
