IR35..."tax doesn't have to be taxing"

IR35..."tax doesn't have to be taxing"

To borrow HMRC’s own phrase “tax doesn’t have to be taxing”…but only when you plan ahead and have someone responsible for making sure you’re ready!

So, IR35 tax changes are being rolled out to the private sector with effect from 6th April 2021. That seems like a long time away and no need to think about it yet. But, before then you will need to have:

1) agreed an approach with your senior team

2) identified your “off payroll” workers

3) carried out an individual tax status assessment for each off payroll worker

4) for those identified as “inside” IR35, consulted on and changed contract terms and, potentially, pay rates. Or even taken them on as employees

5) issued Status Determination Statements for all your off payroll workers

6) managed any appeals to your status assessments

7) updated your resourcing and procurement processes for all new off payroll workers

and 8) carried out all of the above with the involvement of the other relevant stakeholders in your organisation

Can you do all of that before end of March 2021 …. ??
